Pastor Paul Rhoads preaches from James 5:1-12. The values of the world can infiltrate the believer's life in numerous ways. One of the primary forms of saturation is in the focus on the here and now, instead of maintaining an eternal perspective. James talks here about the need to patiently persevere in the face of this deceptive trap, not caught up in the wrong priorities, but standing steadfast and confident in the Lord's provision.

08/05/07: Avoiding Presumptuous Behavior
Pastor Paul Rhoads preaches from James 4:11-17. Throughout the book of James, the Holy Spirit has detailed our constant battle against pride and the inclination to be selfish. Both work contrary to surrendered living, which is the proof of the authenticity of our faith. Here in chapter 4, the challenge of daily submission to the Lord is tested by our desire to control others and elevate self, so the Spirit warns us about the dangers of both, while calling us to a correct response.
